Rollerskating is not just "old-school" exercise

This past Saturday was my 34th birthday celebration.  My husband's birthday falls two days before mine, so we always try to plan something fun and unusual together.  This year we decided that we wanted to try and re-live our youth and plan a birthday activity that would take us back to the days of being a true kid.  This year we decided to go Rollerskating!  It had been years since my husband and I had been to a rink and most of the people we invited stated that they had not been rollerskating in a long time as well.  We were all completely surprised when we got to the rollerskating rink to see that it was packed with people.  Little, little kids, teenagers, adults, families; everyone was there.  We had no idea that rollerskating was still such a popular activity.  I had assumed that it had kind of lost its appeal, but boy was I wrong!  So, we laced up our rented skates, with a bit of nervousness and apprehension, and headed out onto the floor.  As we rolled around the rink, in not the smoothest way, but at least without falling, I remembered why I had always loved rollerskating as a kid.  Here is an activity that pretty much anyone can do, it involves music, and gives you an incredible workout, but doesn't leave you feeling sweaty or completely wiped out.  We all had a blast!  My brother and his girlfriend even decided that it would be a great monthly activity for us to do as a family.  I absolutely recommend that everyone check out this rink.  It is an inexpensive, family friendly way to stay healthy!  Here is the link to their website:
