The Twisted Vine

Given the overwhelming popularity and success of May’s food and wine pairing seminar (writeup here), Jonna Brandon of the Twisted Vine has agreed to repeat it for those who weren’t able to attend.  Guests will arrive between 6 and 6:30, and we will begin at 6:30 sharp.  The seminar will focus, not on specific foods, but on the components of food—saltiness, umami, and so on—and on the wines that pair best with each.  Six wines will be chosen from the Twisted Vine’s selection of small-scale, sustainably produced offerings.  After the seminar, at about 8:30, there will be time for the usual Slow Wine meet-and-greet.

The seminar will be based on a food and wine training workshop designed by Master Sommelier Matthew Citriglia, who led our recent Bordeaux vertical, and will be used with his permission.  Seating for this seminar is limited to 20 people maximum and preregistration (and prepayment) is required.  We anticipate that it will fill up fairly quickly.  For more information about the seminar, call The Twisted Vine at (614) 488-6113.
