Local Matters will celebrate the official kickoff of Local Foods Week by hosting our 2nd annual Kids Cook-Off Challenge and the 2nd annual Grilled Cheese Throwdown at The Hills Market Farmers' Market and Foodie Spelling Bee. This delicious festival is packed with activities and events for kids and adults of all ages, so check out the full schedule below!

10:30-12:30am: Local Matters' Kids Cookoff Challenge
Join us for a special Local Matters Kids Cook-off Challenge! Sign up your 5-12 year old to compete in this fun, hands-on and delicious experience. Competing teams will take the stage to assemble the most delicious dish they can dream up!

Afternoon Events
2-3pm: Foodie Spelling Bee presented by Wild Goose Creative
This Spelling Bee is out of the ordinary: a lively event for folks of all ages, the Bee will involve audience interaction and quite possibly a physical feat or two for our forty contestants. Each and every word will be (very loosely) associated with food. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place participants. To register for the Foodie Spelling Bee, click here.
3pm-4:30pm: Grilled Cheese Throwdown
Chefs will compete alongside talented amateurs for the title of “Grilled Cheese Master” using local breads, cheeses and toppings. Taste their amazing creations and cast your vote for the winner! The cost of a tasting ticket is $5.
4-5pm: Live Auction to benefit Local Matters
Hosted by Kristen Schmidt of Columbus Alive, this live auction will feature exclusive local items and opportunities.
On the Veranda
Pancake Breakfast hosted by Breakfast with Nick from 8-11am (cost is $5)
Darista Cafe and Ohio beer and wine from 12-5pm
