Ecology of Food Curriculum

Ecology of Food Curriculum is an interdisciplinary food and nature curriculum that will encourage children to learn about local, healthy food by teaching subjects such as soil science, composting, organic food production and water harvesting. The curriculum supports an on-site, edible food gardening space to teach students about growing their own food and participate in both the harvest and preparation of this fresh, local food in their classroom. Visits to local farms or visits from local farmers can be offered to reacquaint children with the source of their food and begin to build a connection between local schools and local farmers.
