While Columbus is considered one of our nation's most prosperous communities, we have one of the highest infant mortality rates in the country and 1 out of 5 children are food insecure.
Local Matters needs your help to address the health crisis and provide education and inspiration to promote healthy eating and active living in communities across Central Ohio.
We’re working to recruit a team of volunteers to help raise $25,000 by the end of the year to expand our impact. If you’re interested in learning more, please join us!
The main purpose of the fundraising training is to:
• learn how to inspire action and build support for our work
• build understanding about the basic principles of fundraising
• practice fundraising and development with others who are learning
Fundraising can seem confusing, even scary… but it doesn’t have to be that way. Anyone can become a great fundraiser by learning the principles behind raising money, then practicing over and over again.
The training will be facilitated by Will Petrik, Grants Associate with Local Matters. Will is passionate about strengthening communities and improving people’s lives. He believes that all people deserve a living wage and access to quality food, great schools, affordable housing, child care, health care. Will has several years of experience in grassroots fundraising, communications, and advocacy.
